On Monday, 3 Network Rail staff travelled from Kent on a volunteering day, to clear up the grassed area at the station.
Nicky, Tony and Jamie, shown pictured above, did a great job, which will help the station adopters now to get the area looking fantastic in time for the summer.
Nicky Ashenden, Project Management Assistant, Southern Region Capital Delivery Signalling said:
“😊it was amazing to see the before and after and we were all so glad we made a difference.
I’m hoping we behaved ourselves enough to be invited back, as we are working on a project in the area and it will be good to get to know you all and build relationships pre our work starting on the ground.”
The Mayor of Arundel asked Rowena, Community Rail Development Officer for the Arun Valley Line to pass on his thanks, saying
“Thank you-what a great job they have done.”
Station staff, Darrell and Laura, who looked after the volunteers, with refreshments, fruit and local advice, said:
“Now, with a little bit of help from station adopters, Arundel town council and Lyminster parish council we can make this area outstanding.”
