Students and staff from the Queen Elizabeth II SEND School in Horsham were devastated when the hand-painted portrait of the Queen was damaged and taken off the wall in their gallery at the station. But, this is not a group to be deterred, they took the board back to the school, to be repaired.
Just before May half-term, a group came back to the station, bringing not only the restored Queen Elizabeth portrait, but several other pieces of artwork. The students spent a morning installing their pieces, as well as talking to station staff and watching the trains from their gallery viewpoint above the platforms.

Rowena Tyler, SCRP Community Development officer for the Arun Valley Line commented: The QE2 SEND School is an approved station partner. This initiative, supported by Southern Rail improves students’ confidence and teaches them important lessons about working at railway stations.
