The brochure is out for the Artwave Festival across Lewes district.

It is the event’s 30th anniversary. Artwave runs from 2nd to 17th September.

The organisers say: “We are delighted to be celebrating our 30th anniversary year with our biggest festival yet. When Artwave started in 1993 with a founding mission ‘to make the arts accessible to all’, the festival featured 70 artists across 18 events in and around Lewes.

“This year you can discover work by more than 1,000 creatives, and visit upwards of 180 venues, with free-to-visit exhibitions in private homes, studios, potteries, windmills, railway stations, farms and churches, from Ditchling to Herstmonceux, Newhaven to Danehill.”

75. Art at Bishopstone Station

11 local artists and makers are sharing the recently restored Art Deco Old Parcel Room, exhibiting eclectic 2D and 3D works inspired by natural forms, local landscape, figures and animals. 11am-5pm on Saturday 2nd, Sunday 3rd, Saturday 9th, Sunday 10th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September.

175. Sara Grisewood: Entangled Lines

Lewes Railway Station, Station Road, Lewes BN7 2UP

Sara Grisewood (our Marshlink Line Officer) displays a colourful banner depicting wildflowers growing in profusion by railway lines, made with recycled and reused fabric and cardboard. Enquire at the ticket office for access to platform 2. 8am-11pm 2nd-17th September.
