SCRP and Crawley Station manager were delighted to be contacted with a request for the station to be included in a town-wide art display. This was the result of a project involving Year 2-8 pupils from the ‘Buchan Group’ of local schools. They created art pieces on the theme of Sustainability – the group’s inaugural community art event. which would give people the chance to vote for their favourite design.
David Luard, Director of Studies, Science Teacher commented:
“It was sometimes tricky to get places to agree to put up our art but no one has been more hospitable than Southeast Communities Rail Partnership. The railway maintenance team put up new display cabinets especially for the event – we are touched and delighted by their support.
We hope commuters enjoy taking a moment to vote for their favourite pieces!
Look out for next year and beyond as we spread out across Sussex!”
