Thanks to some great partnership working with SWR, Network Rail, Spelthorne Council and Ashford Youth and Community CIC, we now have a wonderful new mural at Ashford.
After a consultation and youth workshops, artist Lenka Lawrie worked with groups to create a bright, joyful interpretation of Ashford.
The brief was very much about involving local children and helping them take part in creating a safe, happy version of Ashford. The composition is quite minimal and semi-abstract, making it achievable for all abilities to take part.
The scenes naturally connect so the whole bridge reads as one continuous story.
The groups feel really proud of what they’ve created.
