Disabled Access Day between 10-12 March is a national event set up by the national disability charity www.disabledaccessday.com .

Disabled Access Day is sponsored by Euan’s Guide: a listing and review site that helps disabled people, their friends and families know which venues that are accessible.

As our ‘venues’ are our buses we are really pleased to advise that we have decided to support and celebrate it by offering all Disabled Concessionary Card holders free travel for the 3 days to a travelling companion of their choice.

Brighton & Hove Buses and Metrobus will both be taking part.

If you want to know more details of the national event and places/venues getting involved are here https://www.disabledaccessday.com/

We are really excited about this as we want to be able to encourage disabled people to be confident about travelling on the bus as well as encouraging even more bus travel to all in the future. This is also an amazing opportunity to let more passengers know about some of our accessible initiatives designed to give that little extra assistance such as  www.buses.co.uk/helpinghand and www.buses.co.uk/taxi

These are just a couple of ways we can help our passengers at Brighton & Hove and Metrobus.

What will we be doing?

We will be offering all Disabled Concessionary Card holders free travel for a travelling companion of their choice for the whole 3 days between 10-12 March.

The Disabled card holder boards the bus with their travelling companion and they will be allowed free travel on all our services.

Can all concessionary card holders receive this offer?

No. Only Disabled concessionary card holders.

What if the person already has a plus companion card?

If the Disabled Concessionary card holder already is entitled to take a travelling companion on the bus free they will be entitled to have 2 people travelling with them free between 10-12 March

Will there be Time Restrictions?

The normal time restrictions will apply on the Disabled concessionary card depending on area. This will not change at all.

Please let me know if you require any further information at all or I can help in anyway. In the meantime do let everyone know and encourage people to check out the venues taking part, such as the Dome in Brighton, here at www.dissabledaccessday.com

With the offer of free travel available from us and so many venues taking part its a great opportunity to hop on board a bus and travel to a participating venue or another destination of choice.
