Although not able to work up at the station right now, the Friends of Angmering Station are still planning ways to brighten up the area, and hopefully, bring a smile to those essential workers who pass through the station on the train each day.
Across the country, a ‘Rainbow’ theme, begun in Italy, has caught on, with hand drawn pictures in windows, through to illuminations and models, as an expression of hope and unity.
Deirdre Carolin, from the Friends of Angmering station has been setting up children with rainbow kits and showing them how to make wool and sticks artwork.
The kits are all set up and ready to go out, the first stick and wool rainbow has been made, and will, hopefully, be put up soon by the helpful staff at Angmering station.
We look forward to getting back on the trains later in the year and seeing the rainbow installation at Angmering. In the meantime, Deirdre and the Friends hope that the essential workers, which includes railway staff, enjoy the rainbows, wherever they see them!
