The fantastic restoration by Network Rail of Appledore Station on the Marshlink Line, long championed by community station partners Friends of Appledore Station FOAST has been recognised in this years National Railway Heritage Awards.
These awards aim ” To recognise, acknowledge and reward, for the public benefit, the very best in restoration, conservation and re-use of our historic railway infrastructure. ”
Network Rail was the winner of the Southeastern Rail sponsored 2021 award for commercial restoration of a building for its restoration of the previously-abandoned station building in Appledore, Kent.
Supported by the local community and FOAST this beautiful building has been brought back to its former glory and we look forward to seeing the building in use
