Various seed swaps are being planned for the next few months.

Greenhavens Network are holding a Seed/Plant swap on Sunday 30 October at Meeching Hall in Newhaven from 10am to 4pm.

It’s a chance to pop along and swap seeds and plants, meet lots of the fantastic community groups in the area and hear how they are making changes to help the environment. They will also have some activities for families, including making willow hearts, lavender bags, seed bombs and a Halloween activity sheet.

The Seedy Sunday group in Brighton are holding Seed Saving demonstrations this autumn. They will be at Brighton Open Market, Marshalls Row, Brighton BN1 4JU from 12 noon to 2pm on Sunday 30 October and then at their sponsor Infinity Foods, 25 North Road, Brighton BN1 1YA on Saturday 12 November from 12 noon to 2pm.

They have also announced the date of next year’s Seedy Sunday event asking people to mark their calendar: Sunday 5 February 2023.

The group says they are preparing to return to a much bigger, fuller event – bringing back guest speakers, children’s activities and a horticultural marketplace.
