Littlehampton’s Frank Rowe manned Ford station for over 40 years. The Littlehampton Gazette reported,
after his death, in 2001 that Frank “actually looked after the station completely himself – he painted and
decorated, removed graffiti and looked after the garden he had there. He often worked past the hours [he
was] paid for. He was well liked by staff and customers alike”
A plaque was erected and a tree planted in his memory in 2001
