Network Rail  are upgrading both Crowborough and East Grinstead stations with a new footbridge and new lifts, providing step free access at these stations for the first time. Tactile paving will also be installed along both platforms to improve use for passengers with visual impairment.

The investment of £9.3m across the two stations will make them much easier to use for passengers with accessibility needs.

During the works, engineers will be constructing foundations on the platforms. New lift shafts and the footbridge will be created off-site and lifted by crane into position during planned line closures.

On completion of the new footbridge, engineers will dismantle the existing station footbridge and remove it from the station.
