Several meetings this week anticipated changes in the Kings speech. Change brings opportunities but also risks. We want to make sure there is continuity for community rail and our core funding is paid to us in full and on time during the transition period.
The work of community rail goes on. 1066 are focusing on accessibility and inclusion. Try a Train in Arun Valley got students enthused and we had Southeast in Bloom visiting one of our transformed stations. The education team have packed in a lot before term ends, encouraging schools to give up their reliance on coaches for school trips and use the train to get to local museums and outdoor spaces. Cross Country Train driver provided an excellent role model for students this week when she talked to them about her career. Some great progress on GTR lines too.
