Station partners Brighton Toy and Model Museum had a lot of fun filming with Susan Calman and the tv crew from Channel 5 in the museum recently for ‘Grand Week by the Sea’ – the series will be aired every evening next week at 8pm. The episode featuring the museum will be on Tuesday 29th June.
Brighton Toy and Model Museum is one of the World’s great toy museums.
One hour from London, located in the “artists’ city” of Brighton on Britain’s South Coast, and densely packed into a set of four Victorian cellars under Brighton main terminus station covering four thousand square feet, the museum’s displays draw on guest collections and a core collection of over ten thousand items.
Visiting the museum is an immersive visual experience that plunges the visitor into a different world, as seen through the eyes of artists and designers responsible for the Golden Age of British and European toymaking.
Staffed mostly by dedicated volunteers, the museum also carries out nationally and internationally important restoration, research, and digitisation work, and operates a ~9000-page online encyclopedia and image library used by individuals and organisations, worldwide.
The museum is now open again please book your tickets here https://www.brightontoymuseum.co.uk/
The museum is an independent registered charity (number 1001560) that receives no money from central or local government – it survives through ticket sales, school visits, shop sales, and donations and bequests.
To help us survive these challenging times, we are dependent on people’s generous donations to help us continue our work.
Your contributions would be greatly appreciated to help preserve our wonderful museum.
