Worthing

Littlehampton Worthing Shoreham-by-Sea Hove
Worthing is a traditional seaside town with a twist. This is a place full of surprises – a wide open prom allows space to breathe, to run, to cycle, an endless horizon frames the beach and, of course, don’t miss the famous pier. Where else can you hop off your paddle board and into one of the oldest working cinemas in the UK, tuck into a traditional cream tea or pop into a micro pub, swing by an art studio beach hut or spot wild ponies at an Iron Age fort. The town makes a perfect base to explore wider Sussex, just 90 minutes from London Victoria by train or 20 minutes from Brighton.
Sistine Chapel Ceiling

Sistine Chapel Ceiling

The only known reproduction of the Sistine Chapel Ceiling in the world is at the English Martyrs Catholic Church in Goring by Sea. Gary Bevans, a sign writer parishioner with no formal training, started the work after a parish pilgrimage to Rome. At 2/3 scale of the original, the colours match the newly cleaned ceiling in Rome.

Cissbury Ring

Cissbury Ring

The hill fort of Cissbury Ring is over 6,000 years old, an ancient landmark on the South Downs. Used as a ritual burial ground during the early Bronze Age, then an Iron Age hill fort. In Tudor times Cissbury was part of an early-warning system of beacons that ran the length of the south coast, and an anti- aircraft station in the Second World War.
