Crowborough station suffered during the current lockdown, as did all the our stations with gardens or platform planters that are cared for by those unsung hero’s the Station Partners. All their hard work was lost when access to the stations was withdrawn for all but those who absolutely needed to travel. It was very sad to see the plants had been abandoned and left without water during those many weeks without a drop of rain.
But out of those sad ashes Crowborough has risen phoenix-like; Brighter Crowborough a group of local volunteers who amongst their many other volunteer tasks look after the planting at the station, put out a call on their local social media asking for any spare or unwanted plants. The response has been amazing so much so that all the planters are now back in bloom and returned to their former glory.
A great job by all involved.
