On the 4th June, we celebrated the 169th birthday of Ascot Railway Station as part of Railway 200. Ascot was opened on 4th June 1856 and is now a very busy station serving the local community, commuters and leisure travellers.

A permanent plaque was unveiled in the booking hall and and invited guests, including many local school children came to hear about the history of the railway and Ascot Station.

Children and commuters were delighted to share the 1.5 metre replica South Western Railway cake and other refreshments. A lovely day had by all.
