On Tuesday 23rd April, a group from Aspens, an organisation who provide care and support to people on the autism spectrum and with learning disabilities, took part in a try a train trip from Hastings to Battle. They explored Hastings station along with the staff and learnt about how trains operate and are dispatched.

They purchased a ticket from the ticket office and learnt about ticket machines and information points. The departures and arrivals screen told which train and platform we needed to travel on.

The highlight was the access to the drivers cab to learn how a train is controlled.

One of the group commented how much they enjoyed the trip “I were far more likely to travel by train in the future”.
