Lewes Mayor Janet Bah celebrated today’s centenary of the suffragette movement and votes for women with a soup kitchen at Lewes railway station. The soup kitchen was hosted at the independent Runaway Cafe at the station.
The silhouette of the suffragette is was kindly provided by Southern and is part of the range of ‘silent soldier’ silhouettes marking the centenary of the end of the First World War.
