A free festival of walks led by local experts has been announced for Lewes district.

Many of the walks are accessible by public transport especially by train as they begin or end near railway stations.

The Walk This Way festival organised by Visit Lewes takes place across the whole of the district over two consecutive weekends in March: 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th.

The organisers say: “There’s something for everyone to enjoy – from the most enthusiastic hikers to history buffs, artists, photographers, families and more. Choose from coastal and country walks, history and scent walks or even a late night ghost walk in Lewes town.”

The programme of events is available online or in person from Lewes or Seaford tourist information centres.
