The historic market town of East Grinstead have a number of special events throughout the year for you to enjoy.
You can get to East Grinstead by the standard Southern service or by the Bluebell Line from Sheffield Park or Horsted Keynes Station and take the steam train to these events?
The High Street is approximately a 10-15 minute walk from the railway station alternatively you can purchase a £1 bus add on ticket at the booking office giving you unlimited travel around East Grinstead town centre on all metrobus routes.

Sunday 12th April – Vintage Bus Running Day. A number of bus routes based on the High Street of East Grinstead will be operated by vintage bus and coaches (all day) Travel on the 9.45am train from Sheffield Park or the 10.02am from Horsted Keynes to East Grinstead and pay just £5 per person for third class travel. Return travel is only valid on the 2.30pm, 3.45pm or 5pm departures.
Sunday 26th April – St George’s Day Parade London Road and High Street. Roads will be closed for the annual parade. Travel by train from Sheffield Park, Horsted Keynes or Kingscote. (1.30pm – 3pm)
Saturday 2nd May – Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend ~ Three day marathon based on the three Mid Sussex towns of East Grinstead, Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill. It is East Grinstead’s turn today.
Monday 4th May – Lions May Fair ~ The annual Lions Club Fair with stalls and entertainment in the historic High Street. Something for everyone (10.00am – 4.00pm)
Saturday 20th June – Midsummer Market ~ London Road will be closed all day for a fun day of shopping and street entertainment (9.00am – 5.30pm)
Sunday 12 thJuly – Mystery Event in East Grinstead ~ Don’t ask – we dont know either! (10.00am – 4.15pm)
Sunday 19th July – East Grinstead Lions Donkey Derby ~ King Georges Field ~ a real great family day out with donkey racing, stalls and fun fair (12.00-5.00pm)
Travel on the 9.45am service from Sheffield Park calling at Horsted Keynes and return on the 3.45pm or 5.00pm service from East Grinstead and travel with the East Grinstead Excursion Ticket priced just £5.00 per person in third class only.
