When Goring-by-Sea station approved partner, Goring Primary school delivered a large piece of artwork for the waiting room, GTR maintenance team swung into action to prepare the wall display area, removing old picture frames and getting everything ready. Unfortunately, the art teacher then broke her foot, so was unable to come to the station to install the artwork.
Sharon Smith, based at the station salespoint stepped in, and put the artwork up, along with the school’s information sign, explaining the art project.
Visitors to the station have really appreciated seeing the new artwork and have stopped by the ticket office to mention the vibrant colours, saying it really cheers them up on a dark, dank Winter’s morning.
We all hope the art teacher, Keri Heffernan, will be back on her feet soon, and able to visit the station, to see what an improvement it makes to the waiting room.
