An initiative put forward by local councillors for Three Bridges has resulted in a great piece of artwork on the railway bridge outside Three Bridges station.
Pupils from Three Bridges Primary, Pound Hill Junior, Maidenbower Junior and Milton Mount created artwork on the theme of ‘Train travel’. Artist Lionel Stanhope took all the pictures to create a composite mural, and painted it during August, while the schools were on summer holiday.
Along with the existing artwork from Oriel High School currently on display in the underpass at the station, Three Bridges Railway Station really is a brighter place to visit.
Cllr Brenda Burgess has thanked Network Rail Community Rail Officer, Southern Rail Station Manager and Sussex CRP Arun Line Officer for all the support on this project – and of course, the pupils and staff from the five schools.
