2023 marks the 200th Anniversary of Reigate Tunnel in Tunnel Road, Reigate.

This unique building is the oldest road tunnel in the UK and a truly unique landmark.

Reigate Tunnel was commissioned by Earl Somers and built in 1823 by William Constable.

Reigate Business Guild are celebrating this unique anniversary with a number of events including an art competition and exhibition in Reigate Tunnel which will also include a history of Reigate Tunnel. The artwork submitted for the competition will appear in an exhibition in Reigate Tunnel from June to September. The winners and commended artists will also be featuring in an exhibition at Adam’s Galley, 42 High Street, Reigate from 1st July – 16th July (Thu/Fri 12-4, Sat 11-5, Sun 11-4)
