The transition from Primary to Secondary school can be quite overwhelming especially when the responsibility of  travelling from your small, rural village school to a much larger school in a nearby town is added to this time of change.

SCRP recognises this and offers support – on Monday 26 June twentynine year 6 children from Leigh Primary school, along with their class teacher visited their local station.  There followed a talk on travel awareness and how to keep themselves safe by our Education Officer, Maddy Mills.   They were taken by train to much busier Tonbridge station where they met members of staff and learnt how platform staff do their job., despatching trains and ensuring the safety of passengers on the platforms.

The group travelled back on the train to school in time for lunch!
