A new project for SCRP CIC has begun with the Hounslow to Richmond Community Rail Partnership. Fiona Morton, CEO and Sandy Mahon, Community Rail Officer for Windsor to Reading Line, met with the steering group to hear what are the priorities for the partnership. The Hounslow to Richmond route is truly the music line, being the home to many jazz, rock and pop legends. This presents the opportunity to host entertaining community events. The area also nurtured the talents of one of our best known athletes. Much more on this to follow. The steering group members were very generous with their contacts , offering great opportunities to make long lasting connections to volunteers in the local area who have already established Bee Friendly gardens and created art exhibitions at stations. Visit Richmond hopes to make sure everyone knows about the hidden gems on this riverside route and sees the CRP as a vital partner in this work. Our priorities will be reaching out to groups to Try a Train, supporting the work on the Access for All plans for Isleworth and leading a community art project nearby.
