As part of the Community Rail Week and to celebrate Railway 200, Hastings Friary Gardeners enjoyed a try a train trip and planting work experience at Robertsbridge.
The day started at Hastings, with an introduction to the barrier staff and a safety talk on the importance of the yellow line and railway Safety. Then a train trip to Robertsbridge where they were greeted by Ross the Station Master. They then planted out the beautiful plants they had grown. The plants were funded by Robertsbridge and Salehurst Parish Council
Then followed a look behind the scenes, a picnic and cake and a fun trip back to Hastings.
