On 27 June by kind permission of Southern, East Grinstead station, played host two  local bus companies, Southdowns and Metrobus who joined with Sussex Community Rail Partnership to give the local bus traveling public an opportunity to meet bus company managers to make suggestions, comments or requests regarding the local service.  We were supported at the event by the local community transport company, Bluebird who took the opportunity to engage with people who might need additional transport support.  Also attending were Bus Users UK who collate all the information and East Grinstead Town Council who helped to promote the event locally.

Then on 28 June with support from Reigate & Banstead Borough Council a brand new model Southdowns bus was parked in Redhill’s market square.  From the moment we set-up there was great interest from the public with comments and suggestions such as “can this route be extended”? “can this bus run later/more frequently?”  Some even brought written lists which they handed in.  Representatives from disability groups came along to make comments on transport/funding issues that can cause difficulties.
