Newhaven Station continues to be supported by Burleys

Burleys were approached four years ago by the Community Rail Partnership as they wanted to improve the station at Newhaven and make it more welcoming.  We were delighted to be of help offering our horticulture expertise and resources.

The area adjacent to the station was an eyesore and we brought our digger in, leveling the land and did a huge litter pick.  We have continued to litter pick this area three times a week for free for the last four years.

Our team also donate their time to plant and tend all the beautiful planters that you can see on the station, blooming throughout all the seasons, we hope they lift passenger’s spirits.

This year we are excited to announce that we will be creating butterfly banks next to the entrance, these will be planted up with chalk down land plants and will create a gateway to the outstanding Downs as well as being nectar rich for our pollinating bees and butterflies.

Burleys is committed to supporting its local community and is always keen to explore new projects and ideas in the Newhaven area. Please do not hesitate to get in touch karenrigby-faux@gburley.co.uk
