Aldingbourne Trust clients were thrilled recently to hear that the planters and tubs which they maintain at Chichester railway station were to be sponsored, meaning more colourful plants could be installed.  The extra funding came from family and friends of the late Trevor Tupper OBE, who was a stalwart supporter of the rail industry, and a long-term Chichester resident.

Arun Valley Line Community Development Officer, Rowena Tyler said:  These wall planters have been installed, and filled with compost and colourful plants, thanks to funding from both GTR and Trevor’s friends and family.  Two large planter tubs have also been installed on the platform.  The Aldingbourne Trust is a centre for adult with learning difficulties, and is based in the Chichester district.   A group of the clients comprise the planting and watering team, maintaining displays at about 30 stations across the Southern Rail network.”

Ben Skeele and Christian Turrell, pictured at Chichester station with Rowena, are two members of that team.
