Concept and aims

A meet the manager event organised with the support and co operation of our partners. The aim: to give bus users in the Redhill area the opportunity to feedback comments, questions, suggestions, complaints and compliments to managers of the bus companies who serve the town. A valuable community engagement event.

What happened

Reigate & Banstead Borough Council with their partners Tudor Markets gave permission for us to hold the event on a busy pre Christmas market day in the Town Square.

Our Partners Metrobus, namely their Business Development Manager Lewis Jackson assisted with the event planning. Southdown Buses provided a state of the art bus as a centre piece to the event plus several members of staff to engage with the public. Bus Users UK sent their representative.

Some of the comments included: Can I take my mobility scooter on the bus? Why doesn’t service X run on Sundays? Can service Y have an additional stop? There were also several comments regarding the central bus shelter which are being investigated by R&BDC.

Several SCRP staff, a Director, and Steering Group members attended along with SCRP Officer who represented GWR. We provided information on accessibility, local line guides, walking routes. Metrobus provided some goodies to take away.
