The first Brighton & Hove Walking Festival starts next month.
It’s a chance to celebrate the joy of walking and all its benefits.
The Walking Festival is the perfect opportunity to explore or rediscover the city and its surroundings.
This two-week event (from 24 June to 9 July) offers free walks across the city for everyone, regardless of fitness and ability.
If you like historical tours, nature walks, creative or mindful experiences or you just want to start moving again, meet new people and get out and about, there’s something for you.
We have worked with Brighton & Hove City Council and our Brighton station partner which is the Brighton Toy and Model Museum to organise a specific walk to take in the history of the railways.
The walk is called ‘Going Loco’ and there are two events taking place on Saturday 8 July.
The walks will be led by an enthusiastic and experienced tour guide. The talks start and end outside the Toy and Model Museum (underneath Brighton railway station). They are scheduled to last 45-60 minutes.
At 11am there will be a family friendly tour focusing on the fun parts of the Level and North Laines.
The 2pm adult tour takes in the immediate history of the area including the railway engineering works, Isetta Square (bubble cars) and the Brighton Greenway.
Both walks end with a discounted admission to the museum (50% off to all walk participants).
You can download a brochure to view the timetable of events.
