A great day at Bishopstone Station with the installation and launch of a new art exhibition by Nick Sayers and local schools. The pictures were taken with pinhole cameras set up around Newhaven as a part of the Diep~Haven Arts Festival which is running over July and August. The event is a cross-channel festival of contemporary creation which takes place annually in the towns of Newhaven and Dieppe. The theme this year has been ‘Terra Firma’ exploring the tensions between human designs and their surroundings. The pinhole cameras long exposure time gives the pictures their distinctive look. With a visit from Station Manager Andy Gardner and Denton Primary School pupils the exhibition was well received. With thanks to Rosie Hermon (Newhaven~Diep Festival) and Caroline Fleming (So Sussex) for their organisation. For more details of events over the summer see www.diephaven.org
