The Windsor to Reading Line and Hounslow to Richmond line enjoyed a wonderful day with two SEND groups, staff and carers from Oaklands Community College and Richmond and Hillcroft Adult Community College. We met the groups at the stations and travelled with them to Kew Bridge and took the short walk to the Water and Steam Museum.
We had lunch followed by tea, cakes and scones from a local bakery. The groups toured the museum, home to the world’s largest collection of stationary steam engines and the beautiful gardens.
Undoubtedly, the highlight of the day was riding on the steam train that we had organised especially for the groups. It was a lovely surprise and the groups were overjoyed.
