Visitors to Redhill Station Platform 3 can now learn about the role played by the station and its staff in the evacuation of thousands of Allied troops from Dunkirk .
In pride of place on display is an informative record of events in which the station played its part.
The project was researched by local resident, a member of both the Reigate Society and Southeast Communities Rail Partnership steering group for the Tonbridge, Redhill & Reigate line.
This is a great example of both community interest at a station, recording and keeping recent history alive and of course honouring the station staff who worked tirelessly in what must have been very difficult circumstances.
