The BBC programme Countryfile has published this comprehensive guide to walking the entire route of the the South Downs Way. The route has conveniently been split into sections so you could plan to complete your walk in a few days, a few weeks or more. There are also suggestions of where to eat and where to stay. Many of the destinations can be accessed by a local station so it is not even necessary to bring a car.
