Our classroom workshop supports the following for Key Stage 2:

English

Spoken Language:

Listen and respond appropriately to adults and their peers

Ask relevant questions to extend their understanding and knowledge

Reading:

Maintain positive attitudes to reading and understanding of what they read by continuing to read and discuss an increasingly wide range of fiction, poetry, plays, non-fiction and reference books or textbooks

Understand what they read by asking questions to improve their understanding

Retrieve, record and present information from non-fiction

Science

Pupils should be taught to recognise the impact of diet, exercise, drugs and lifestyle on the way their bodies function

Geography

Pupils should be taught to name and locate counties and cities of the United Kingdom, geographical regions and their identifying human and physical characteristics, key topographical features (including hills, mountains, coasts and rivers), and land-use patterns

Pupils should be taught to use maps and a key

Pupil should be taught to use the eight points of a compass
