Crowborough bike racks

Finding a new home for unwanted items

November 12, 2024

Sharon Gray

Concept and aims

Finding a new home within the community for unwanted items made redundant by station upgrades donated by Southern.  Re-use and recycle, keeping it local.

What happened

The Uckfield line’s local maintenance operative made contact to ask if we could find a new home for some now redundant bike racks that were taking up space at their depot.  An appeal to re-home was sent out to the local Town and Parish Councils.  Crowborough Town Council were first to respond  and took delivery of two four bay racks to improve facilities for cycle users within the town.

Results

Two splendid bike racks now adorn the Town’s Goldsmiths Recreation Ground
