Hounslow to Richmond Line

By working with local people and encouraging visitors to our area, we help to promote local rail services, connect communities and support our local economy. Use this section to learn more about the 15 local stations on the SWR network that make up the Hounslow & Richmond Line. The Hounslow 'Loop' Line - Dating back to 1850, ‘The Loop’ is a 7.5-mile stretch of track that leaves (and then re-joins) the London Waterloo to Reading mainline between Barnes and Feltham stations. Its seven station stops include: Chiswick, Kew Bridge, Brentford, Syon Lane, Isleworth, Hounslow and the Richmond borough station of Barnes Bridge.

Highlights

  • WWT London Wetland Centre – run by the UK’s leading wetland conservation charity and set in wildlife heaven, with 100 acres of natural riverside marshland habitat which is home to over 180 species of birds.
  • Richmond Park – one of London’s 8 Royal Parks, this is London’s largest Site of Special Scientific Interest and a European Special Area of Conservation. Covering 2,500 acres, the park is a top UK site for ancient trees and includes grasslands and deer herds across its wide-open spaces.
  • Hounslow Heath – Hounslow Heath is a local nature reserve in the London Borough of Hounslow. The public open space, which covers 200 acres, is all that remains of the historic heath which covered more than 4,000 acres in the 16th century! The park is open from 7.30am – dusk.
