There always seems to be something happening in Uckfield:

The town is served by a regular train service and many bus routes including the Brighton & Hove service 28/29.  If none of the events appeal to you why not visit this lively little town and take advantage of the many coffee shops lining the High Street?  Or do some research and take yourself on a relaxing autumnal walk or cycle ride,  try the Wealden Way https://www.wealden.gov.uk/leisure/walking-and-cycling-in-wealden/wealden-walks/

Markets are returning to Bridge Cottage Heritage Centre in Uckfield after a long break because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Five markets are planned on Saturdays in October, November and December, with stalls inside and outside the cottage (weather permitting).

They will be held from 10am to 2pm on the following dates:

Saturday, October 9
Saturday, October 23
Saturday, November 6
Saturday, November 27
Saturday, December 4

Late night shopping takes place in the town on Friday, December 3, and the cottage will be open for shopping then too.

Bridge Cottage is owned by Uckfield and District Preservation Society, along with

Nutley Windmill in Crowborough Road, Nutley, and a charity shop in Uckfield High Street.

Windmill

Open afternoons are due to be held at the windmill on Sunday, September 26, and Sunday, October 10, from 2.30 to 5.30pm.

Visitors are asked to park in the Friends Clump car park, then follow signs to the windmill. There is no entry charge but donations are always welcome.

The charity shop is open six days a week and donations of saleable goods are always welcome. There is a good range of stock for browsing.
