We are delighted that the opportunity to provide feedback for the proposed changes to ticket offices has been extended to 1st Sept 2023. Each Line steering group has collated concerns and responded to the consultation. It has been time consuming and constrained due to the way the survey has been designed. Our main points are:
- The impact on people with additional needs is profound – we cannot retreat from improving accessibility to those who need extra help or who are digitally excluded
- Some of the proposals are improvements – so important to check what is happening on a station by station basis and respond accordingly
- So many of the changes are odd. Why close ticket offices at key leisure destinations such as Rye (pictured) during weekends when many leisure travellers need the key support provided by staff?
