Brighton Toy and Model Museum’s next running day will be a tribute to famous photographer Roger Bamber.
The train running day takes place on Saturday 14 October 2023 and is a particularly special event for the museum. It celebrates the life and incredible work of the museum’s friend Roger Bamber, a renowned photographer of international fame, who held a deep affection for the museum and its exquisite collection of model trains.
As well as the iconic photo of museum founder Chris Littledale tending to one of the steam engines in the collection, Brighton-based Roger made other generous donations to the museum, including the nameplate of the prestigious Schools class locomotive ‘Brighton’.
This exhibition is a heartfelt commemoration of Roger’s enduring legacy within the community of railway enthusiasts.
The museum is open on the day from 10.30am to 5pm with trains running from 11am to 1pm and 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
Brighton Toy and Model Museum is our Community Rail station partner at Brighton. The museum is underneath the station in Trafalgar Street.
Roger Bamber died in September 2022 aged 78.
