Things to do

As part of our Integrated Travel Project, we had two day trips this week with clients from Optalis social care provider and CLASP, a self-advocacy group for people with learning disabilities, both based in Wokingham.

The theme was ‘Try a Train and a Bus’ and the project’s aim is to build confidence with underrepresented groups and add to the knowledge of transport providers near the Windsor to Reading Line about the needs of those less confident to travel. Our objective is about mainstreaming public transport to make it accessible for all.

We took the train to Reading and walked to Reading Buses depot, where we were given a fantastic behind the scenes tour and had the chance to hop on and off the buses. We enjoyed workshops with Reading Buses training providers and ended the days with engaging and positive feedback sessions.
