11th July 2023 marked 175th anniversary of London Waterloo station and we certainly went all-out and celebrated in style!
We formed a choir to entertain invited rail industry guests, including the rail minister, Huw Merriman MP and a second performance took place on the concourse under the famous four-sided hanging clock where the public eagerly joined in with the medley.
We were treated to a sneak preview of SWR’s brand-new Aerterio trains and the first in the fleet has been named ‘Waterloo 175’.
It was wonderful to engage with the public about Waterloo’s fascinating history and to highlight the work of Community Rail.
