Just ten months after the launch of the new CRP at Shoreham Port, members of the Coastway West Line Group including other station adopters, Sussex CRP staff and directors were invited to join other stakeholders on a tour of the Port’s waterways, using one of their own tour boats.

The 45 minute trip was led by Rodney Lunn, Chief Executive of Shoreham Ports, who gave a talk on the type of goods which are handled at the port, the structure and age of the various warehouses and buildings, and plans for the future.

The sun shone throughout the boat trip and back on dry land, where passengers were welcomed with offers of free ice-cream or hot drinks. It had been an excellent afternoon, most informative.

Shoreham Port is a trust port, and as such, any financial surpluses are reinvested for the benefit of its stakeholders.

Rowena Tyler, Sussex CRP Line Officer for the Coastway West Line from Littlehampton to Southwick said: “Shoreham Port is one of our more active station partners and we are pleased to have a number of joint projects underway this year. Special thanks must go to Emily Kenneally who arranged the boat tours, and has also been instrumental in offering the visitors’ centre for recent Line Group meetings.’
