Young volunteers involved in a National Citizen Service programme, recently joined staff at Shoreham Port and Sussex CRP to create a total of 144 pictorial tiles, each one depicting an aspect of Maritime Heritage at the Port.

The resulting artwork was unveiled at an official launch event on 6th August, when contributors could see their own tile, displayed in large white frames, which were donated by Southern Rail.  The frames were erected by Pilbeam contractors, at no cost to the Port.

To showcase the artwork at its best, the underpass was cleaned and painted by some of the young volunteers, with materials and tools supplied by Southern Rail.

Shoreham Port has been a station partner for some time, but with the new CRP in place for a year now, Sussex CRP is able to support station partners along the Sussex Coast Line.
