The MP for the Wealden District Nusrat Ghani recently spoke to the Commons about the accessibility improvements on the Uckfield Line, namely at Eridge station which is currently enjoying the installation of a lift and shortly to follow Crowborough station under the access for all scheme.
Regularly visitors to this site will be aware that Eridge station has been subject to a full programme of improvements over the past year from platform level up to a shiny new roof. The expected date for completion of the lift is December 2021.
We are also pleased to confirm notification was recently received from East Sussex County Council that they will be installing accessible parking spaces on the street outside the main entrance to the station. This issue was slightly complicated as GTR/Southern do not have ownership of the pull-in area as that land in under Highways control.
