22nd April saw the unveiling of an art installation by Bourne Community College at Chichester station. The students have been letting their creative juices flow by trying to capture the energy, movement and fun associated with their hobbies. Working with Sustrans, they initially took photographs showing their active hobbies including biking, skateboarding, scooting and gymnastics. Stencils were then developed from the students own photography in preparation for a one day workshop creating large scale art representing active lifestyles. A collection of lively artworks was then created using their skateboards, bikes, hands and feet to apply tracks, paint marks and prints to the boards. The stencils were then used to add extra depth to the pieces.
This was a great opportunity for students from different year groups to work together to create artworks that celebrate active hobbies amongst the students at Bourne Community College.
