Due to the ongoing impacts of COVID-19, we have been making changes to the level of services across both the Metrobus network and Brighton & Hove Bus network. This is to reflect the significantly reduced levels of demand and resource available. We have been working hard to maintain essential bus services are still available for key workers. We have focused on matching bus timetables to key workers’ needs and shift patterns to enable them a safe and comfortable journey. Good level of services have been retained on routes serving hospitals.
Information on the service disruption and updates can be found for:
Metrobus – www.metrobus.co.uk/managing-your-health-and-safety-board
Brighton & Hove Buses – www.buses.co.uk/coronavirus
Please be sure to check the website regularly.
Information at bus stops will not be available at every stop as there aren’t the resources available to be able to do this. However, we have ensured that we have information available to passengers on our buses. We understand that some of our passengers may not have internet access so we ask that you #SpreadTheWord. Send a text… make a call… tell your elderly neighbour of these changes.
We are accepting Older Person’s and Disabled Person’s concessionary passes for travel 24 hours a day until further notice. This is to support our passengers who need to get to the shops early to buy essential supplies.
We ask passengers still using our services to use alternatives to cash payments. Contactless payments are accepted as well as tickets being available on our app (Search for Metrobus or Brighton & Hove Buses on the App Store). Cash is still accepted on our buses but ask kindly to have the correct fare ready.
Queries can still be made by email or telephone. We are currently experiencing a high volume of calls so please only contact us by phone if your call is urgent.
Whilst service reductions are being made across the network, we are happy to talk with businesses and services for assistance during this difficult time. Surplus buses may be useful for operating staff shuttles or even a blood bus. Please contact Lewis Jackson via email for more information – Lewis.Jackson@buses.co.uk or via mobile – 07970 313656
