On Saturday afternoon, 18th September, Just Bring Yourself, a’not for profit’ group in the Surrey Hills will be running a natural history tour taking in some of the Norbury Park yews followed by a delicious cream tea in a lovely pastoral location.
The tour has been arranged to coincide with the Great Big Green Week and we’ve asked people to leave their car at home and travel by train to Box Hill & Westhumble. That’s where the tour starts and ends and it’s all part of our effort to get people back on the train
The group has set some challenging targets :-
-
Be waste free – Reuse, recycle, biodegrade.
-
Educate – Experience, discover, enjoy.
-
Employ Locally – All ages, all backgrounds, inclusive.
-
Source produce locally – Supporting British business
-
Promote health – Mental and physical wellbeing
-
Reduce vehicular impact – Promoting shuttle buses and public transport to reduce noise, parking problems and air pollution.
-
Preserve and restore nature – Encouraging good planetary practice.
