Southborough Councilor Alan Bullion and local resident Barry Crick approached 1066 Line Officer Catherine Simmons regarding the creation of a historical display at High Brooms Station. The station has an interesting history opening in 1893 (originally at Southborough Station) after a long campaign by local residents for an additional station and noted as being ‘one of the prettiest stations on the S.E. Company’s line.’ The use of  local architect Mr W.B Hughes for the station  explains why it is not a standard SER design.

With the kind assistance of The Southborough Society Southeast Communities Rail Partnership were able to create a pop up banner for the ticket office while we work on gathering more information and historical photographs for further display later in the year.
